I'm a middle-aged dad who likes to hike up mountains and belay my climbing-obsessed daughter. In my young adult years, I loved spending my weekend climbing long moderate trad routes and ice in the winter.

Best Climbing Experience
Summiting Mt. Alice with my dad back in 2009. Alice towers above our hometown of Seward, Alaska, and is intimidating enough that my dad had never attempted to climb it, despite growing up in Seward and spending nearly all of his free time in the mountains. When we finally decided to go for it, we hit it in the perfect springtime conditions and everything went perfectly.
