I began climbing in 1965 when I went to the University of Southampton. The "local" crag was Swanage and the first climb I led was Inspiration at Cattle Troughs. We were using Barrie Annette's little green guide at the time. There are some photos taken at the time in my photo collection here at UKC. In succeeding years, I climbed mainly in the Peak, Yorkshire and the South West - nothing spectacular. I gave up climbing 21 years ago when we moved to the US. Each year I promise myself I'll go to the Gunks, but...

About My Photography
My first camera was a Canon Dial that took half-frame photos - 72 photos from a 36 roll of film! Then I bought a Canon SLR, a FtB, the simplest (and most affordable) SLR produced by Canon. I bought the digital equivalent of the Ftb - the Rebel - when it first came out and it continues to do a great job.
