I'm pretty crap at the mo' (VDiff lead) but I'm making a big push this year to move upwards. It's going ok so far with a fair bit of soloing and bouldering.
I aspire to do stuff in the Alps. I'm wanting to get solid at leading multi-pitch VS routes and III/IV winter in the UK before I visit the European Alps. Greater Ranges? They are soo big!
Besides this I'm a regular mtb rider (XC 2-3x week) and a skier (mostly on-piste). I'm also an aspirant caver. Still not sure if I like caving. It's rough stuff, that's for bloody sure!
As regards paddling. I love it in summer but don't have my own boat so it's on the back burner unless anyone knows any good clubs in Lancs?
ORIGINS OF MY USERNAME
The name 'the colonel' is used in rememberance of Cecil 'Colonel of the 94th'
Dawson. Dawson was a legendary walker from the early 20th century who was
known for his "legendary staying powers on marathon moorland crossings" Along
with colleagues from the Manchester Rucksack Club he extended the Marsen-Edale
to the Colne-Edale and the 50 mile Colne-Buxton route.
