I've never been obsessional before, but climbing has taken me over since the bug bit me in 2007. Starting with bouldering on rock, I moved swiftly from top roping to sports leading, then onto the challenge of facing the fear of trad leading, and more recently the extremism of Ice climbing.I want to climb, I need to climb and I love to climb. I am a writer among other things, and I have a blog on www.climber.co.uk called 'Off the Wall' where I describe the steep learning curve that I'm enjoying - or perhaps, how not to climb...

The first move on Kinky Boots at Baggy Point in Devon. Unless you're over 6ft, it's a free fall over a deep Zawn. Says it all about climbing - don't think about it, just do it.
