I was born last century and my dad had been an alpine photographer in the 50's whilst my Uncle was a senior instructor at Bryntysillio, Llangollen. A number of brill teacher role models directed my keenness and certainly saved me from the ignominy of being a real loser at team sports.
A three year seasonal spell with some blindingly superb colleagues at Drake's Island Adventure centre in the early 80's, where I probably grew-up thanks to their friendship and patience, and then a long spell as a part-timer in outdoor centres and community ed. service alongside my classroom teaching brings me to where I am now.
