I've nearly always been self employed, usually with computers. I've tried to break away but ... it's what I know. Tried to retire, but got sucked back in due to circumstances beyond my control (which isn't an excuse I'm comfortable with.) Family commitments have usually curtailed serious climbing ambitions but I still get away, I'm still doing it.

Interests Outside Climbing
Family - now including a grandchild, which feels just like being a Dad again! Sailing in the Bristol Channel; skiing and (one day again) ski touring; Mountain biking; folk music (sad but true); politics. Work sometimes.

Anything Else We Should Know
My first piece of gear was a hemp waist band and steel screwgate. I'm an unreconstructed Marxist who enjoys mixing it in the private sector.
