I have been obsessed with mountaineering for a long time. I love the multi-faceted nature of our sport and enjoy most aspects of it, but I like long trad mountaineering routes the best.
I like combining climbing and mountaineering with travel and there are so many places yet to explore.
Best Climbing Experience All climbing experiences are amazing, but I love Chamonix and North Wales and visit both often. Best experiences include the North Ridge of the Piz Badile, the Hornli Ridge and Tower Ridge in winter.
Favourite Climbing-Related Discussion Topic Women's issues, mountaineering techniques, ropework etc, anything Alpine, and I'm fascinated by mountaineering history, especially between the 1930s and 1980s.
I love reading and listening to climbing-related anecdotes by ordinary, and sometimes quite extraordinary people.
Interests Outside Climbing Skiing, scouts, anything in the outdoors.
About My Photography I'm no photographer but I have made a few short films. "Botterill's Slab" came third in the Kendal Festival 48 hour Film Marathon, "Remembering Paul Williams" won Best Short Film at the Fort William Festival, and "Binge Climber" about Andy Kirkpatrick was shown at the Outdoor Show as part of the TRAD; Reel Adventure Diaries.
