 stonemaster 12 Aug 2012
In reply to Dominicandave: embarrassingly slow, probably 30 sec, 80 sec and about 3 or 4 minutes including rests... And yours?

In reply to stonemaster: i dont know now but i remember county trials not being that much slower than 12 seconds, i think. 1986, does that sound right?
 wercat 12 Aug 2012
In reply to Dominicandave:

well a 100ft can be tied to 2 trees so as long as it takes to cut the wire and climb the trees. 200foot I think I needed a mast at the centre so it would take 20 minutes or so to put up the mast

400ft is too long without special mast or towers
 stonemaster 12 Aug 2012
In reply to Dominicandave: Wow! Sounds like you have winged feet in comparison.!

In reply to Dominicandave:

I can remember doing the 100 yards at school but broke the high jump record for the school age group, 3 ft 7 1/2 inches i think, can't remember the age but the record stood for about 3 or 4 years
 Steve John B 12 Aug 2012
In reply to Dominicandave: Definitely 100.

In reply to Dominicandave:

I think i used to be able to run 100m in 13 seconds when i was a nipper. Not sure about the other distances. Long jump was my thing, i could jump 5.20m when i was 15. Then I discovered booze.

In reply to Dominicandave:

 Sir Chasm 12 Aug 2012
In reply to Dominicandave: I imagine most posters on ukc would be able to compete for their country but for some good reason.

In reply to Dominicandave:

Despite being a club runner and training regularly on my local track, I don't think I have ever been timed for the 100 or 200 and only do timed 400s as part of a set of intervals like 20x400m.
 Liam M 12 Aug 2012
In reply to Dominicandave: I've done an informal 100 and 400 (as part of track mile events) in about 17s and 78s respectively. I am useless over short distances.
 Andy Hay 12 Aug 2012
In reply to Dominicandave: not been timed since I was a schoolboy in the 80's when I ran for a club (border harriers) Got 3AAA's grade 2 for 100m which if I remember was about 14 secs (aged 12) & 29. something for 200m about the same age? Time has blurred things!
 mark s 12 Aug 2012
In reply to Dominicandave: i timed my dog on the 100 meter track once.was about 6 seconds if i remember right
 climbingpixie 12 Aug 2012
In reply to Dominicandave:

I think my fastest 100m was around 13.5 seconds, 200m was probably more like 30 and I don't think I ever managed to run 400m without dying!
 Pyreneenemec 13 Aug 2012
In reply to Dominicandave:

100m in just over 11 sec, under 16

Got my AAA / Walls Gold 5 Star Award

Represented school and town, then discovered other things !
