With just a few days left to the 4th CWIF, we at The Climbing Works are finishing off the final touches for Saturday's big competition.

Every year the CWIF gets bigger and better. This year is no different with registration having to close early as we hit our quota...and then surpassed it. For the first time we're also going to be webcasting the semi-finals & finals so you don't have to travel from far away to see one of the most exciting bouldering competitions of the year.

So how many are competing?  200! That's right, 200! All vying to become CWIF champion and to take their share of over £4300 of prize money.

The large field includes 59 internationals representing 12 countries including the Netherlands, Austria (pretty much both sending their full bouldering teams) France (20 competitors), Poland, Italy &

Belgium to name just a few. Returning to defend their crowd from this number are Jerome Meyer & Maud Ansade plus other big hitting international superstars such as Gabri Moroni, Stef Julien & Johanna Ermst. Add into this mix British talent like Ned Feehally, Stew Watson, Ryan Pasquill, Katy Whittaker and old heads Gaz Parry & Andy Earl and you have one of the most amazing fields for a UK based bouldering competition.  And not forgetting some skinny weak route climber punter called SteMc.

The day itself will start early at 9.30am with the qualifying 30 problem circuit. This circuit is all on brand new & freshly set luminous pink holds from the guys at Holdz. The top 16 Male & Female from this large field will move onto the semi-finals, with the top 5 competing in the grand final, both held on the Berghaus Competition Wall. By 9.45pm we will have our CWIF 2010 champions – for the finalists this is a long, long day of climbing near your limit.

WATCH IT LIVE EVEN IF YOU AREN'T THERE

If you're competing or not you can come enjoy the FREE BBQ, FREE Physio sessions form The Clinic, and watch the semi's & grand final. If you're too far away to come personally, you can watch both the semi-finals & grand final streamed live on www.247.tv. As part of the CWIF triathlon (more details on the timetable below) we'll also have the FREE CWIF after party at Club Culture in Sheffield city centre so you can use up any remaining energy dancing till 4am.

We'll also be having a prize raffle draw and a fund raiser for theBeth Monks fund. Graeme (MD) has raised over £250 for this fund by agreeing to wear a Toon shirt for the whole day – Graeme prefers red & white so the day will be traumatic for him, help relieve the trauma by donating.

The CWIF wouldn't happen without the support of these companies:

Evolv, Metolious, Holdz, The Clinic, Five Finger Thing & UKC

If the buckets are out on Friday night I'll definately chuck some dosh in - I just want to make sure your sacrifice gets the publicity it deserves :) And I don't think you need to worry about me clinbing on your comp circuit !
