Summer is the time for trad. Time to make those dream routes a reality. Payback for all the effort you put in at the indoor wall over winter. It’s about fitting in climbs after work and just making it back down in time for last orders.

We want to hear your #summeroftrad stories in words and pictures, and as a bit of encouragement we’re running a competition over the summer months with some great trad climbing prizes:

• 1st – Set of latest generation Dragon Cams (1 – 5)
• 2nd – Set of Wallnuts (1 – 11) & Alloy Offsets (7 – 11)
• 3rd – Chimera – DMM’s new clean nose wiregate – Trad Pack (1 x 12 cm, 1 x 25, 3 x 18 mm quickdraws).
• 4th & 5th – Mantis belay device & Rhino biner.
• Plus 10 selected finalists will receive a DMM Heritage T-shirt.

To enter all you have to do is post a photo with #summeroftrad and #dmmwales included in the caption on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and we’ll pull together all your submissions to make a special #summeroftrad page. We’ve already been tagging a few of our team’s recent trad adventures to kickstart the page. Take a look for some inspiration or to get the gist of what #summeroftrad is all about.

Don’t forget to tell us the back-story to the photo and what made that route or moment so memorable. It might be a one-liner or an extended caption.

The competition closes at midnight August 31st and in early September we’ll pick out our 10 favourites. Terms and conditions on the DMM website.
