WINNER: mrshjadams

Arc’teryx is proud to announce the Lakeland Revival will be taking place for the fourth year running, beginning on the 29th April and ended on the 31st August. The aim of the revival is still simple, to revive the spirit of Lakeland climbing and encourage people to come and enjoy the climbing the Lakes has to offer.

This year Arc’teryx will be kicking off the Lakeland Revival with the ‘Big Mountain Weekend’ that will take place at the Sticklebarn, Langdale on the 29th & 30th April. It is a weekend for celebrating the climbing and mountains in the Lake District, and bringing together the community.

The Big Mountain Weekend will be based around 2 days of workshops ranging from scrambling, to multi pitch rock climbing and are open to complete beginners, intermediates and experienced climbers. The workshops will be run by the International School of Mountaineering & British Mountain Guides. The event aims to educate, share and improve the skills necessary for enjoying these beautiful places safely.

Saturday night will include a free BBQ for all participants, quiz and live music. Our partners DMM will also be on hand through out the weekend with demo gear and equipment advice. All ticket holders will also receive a free DMM Lakeland Revival carabiner.

More workshop details can be found HERE and tickets can be found HERE

To celebrate the launch of the Big Moutain Weekend Arc'teryx will be giving away a Proton AR Hoody.

The new Proton Ar Hoody is a synthetic insulated alpine jacket. It has warm air-permeable insulation that self-regulates to prevent overheating. It is designed to perform both as a softshell outer layer and as a mid-layer under a waterproof shell.

Leo has lived in Langdale his whole life and has spent the last 10 years working for the National Trust repairing and building footpaths. After 31 years in the Langdales, he still loves every moment of his time here. Find out why the area and the climbing are so special to him.

I was never sure if I went in the final raffle and I never got an update of who won the final raffle. Life's 'ard int it eh?

Yes, life must be hard if you can't see the obvious point he was making. Lenin's experences were shared by a good number of people. It makes me think that perhaps this is nothing to do with an altruistic Lakeland Revival and everything to do with promoting brand Arc'teryx. If they were genuinely bothered they'd have put in the effort required.

Obviously. It's a marketing exercise run by a company. What do you expect? If it gets more people having a different day out in the Lakes then great.

Good luck with the raffle!

Was it me or were most of the routes on the list, routes that are often climbed anyway? I can't remember but Iam sure that I had already done a large proportion of them.
