On the weekend of the 4th/5th February The Depot, Manchester hosted a series of training workshops with their sponsors Black Diamond and their Ambassador Paxti Usobiaga.

All the monies raised from the workshops (totalling £750) have gone towards the purchase of much needed equipment in the form of a drill, bolts and lower offs for the Yorkshire Bolt Fund. The Yorkshire Bolt Fund have been the guardians of the Limestone crags in recent years replacing old bolts, lower offs and cleaning up pieces of rotting fixed protection across Yorkshire, an important part of the Yorkshire climbing scene.

Black Diamond have a history and a strong philosophy of giving back and of showing respect for the environment and have been active and involved at all levels across many different climbing and outdoor communities. The Rock Project programme is a great example of their understanding and connection with climbing communities across the world and how the environment and areas that we access and climb in need to be looked after by the climbing communities that use them... Paxti who trains many of the world’s top climbers like Adam Ondra, Chris Sharma and Sasha Digiulian is famous for his approach to training. World Champion in 2009 and the first person to onsight 8c+ it was no surprise to find his workshops a great success with a good selection of all abilities ranging from novice climbers to UK super wads!
