Looking for a new cycling jersey for hot weather, going to the Pyrenees this summer, including doing the etape du tour so dont want to be shown up by the continentals, quite like the Rapha lightweight jersey but its EXPENSIVE plus there is the obvious associations with rapha and mamils from the financial sector in London.
Nothing lairy white and black or similarly muted colours no logos any help out there?
Also recomendations for pocket size rain cape would be much appreciated
also not a baggy fit want some encouragement to slim down so slimmish fit

My experience of riding on the continent was that all the Swiss wear BMC replica kits and everyone else wears something from the Europe mainland. I suggest a Team Sky replica jersey to announce your Britishness ... but then I am completely and utterly biased.

In reply to jethro kiernan: I'm not sure I understand the idea of muted colours, but have a look at the Bioracer site. Whilst strictly they specialise in custom fit stuff, they do seem to have a number of off the shelf things advertised on there.
I have one of there's and it's good in warm weather, and a decent technical fit - muted it isn't though, being bright orange (and happening to have Armitstead on the back!).
I also quite like the Northwave and Santini ones; I've happily used them in the Canaries in the summer.

I like Morvelo. It is made in the same factory as Rapha but is half the price.

Yes really. Rapha have had stuff made in the UK, Italy and the Far East. Morvelo use the same factory in Italy that Rapha use. But I believe all Morvelo products are made there rather than select items as is he case with Rapha.

I have both the normal summer and thermoactive jerseys and bib tights, they are of good quality and I really like the thermoactive stuff for autumn/spring weather.

Tørm clothing uses the same material (and surprisingly similar design) as rapha but is much cheaper. I have a couple of their short sleeve jerseys - the full zip one is excellent but the short zip one isn't great for hot weather. Worth a look at www.torm.cc

The Morvelo kit looks good.
Regarding the Merino stuff - we have quite a lot of guests with the rapha tops - better pray for shit weather in the Pyrenees if you have Merino on.

yeh thats why I would go for the lightweight top if I got a rapha, also while I ruled out the ShutVR and Torm, eisier to put a layer on than bake in a thick top.

Some of my other jerseys come from Prendas and tend to be Santini, decent quality and some excellent service.
My Dhb top has a weird fit and just doesn't match other gear but that is what you pay for and it isn't terrible.

I have some DHB kit and the winter bib tights have seen me through some rough weather, quite fancy a couple of quality nice items in the cycling wardrobe as a treat.
I am sure some very nice people (non Bankers) own Rapha gear and I hope to expand my collection from the pair of socks I was bought by my good wife

I have a Montane super lightweight jacket that's perfect on the bike. and not expensive either. Got me round Time Megeve and the lake Geneva sportive last summer, both in the hail/sleet/rain. Wasn't bone dry but nothing would have worked in the weather even my full ski kit!
