I accept that we all can get numb hands, but yesterday both my feet also went numb.
Can anyone tell me how to stop this.
Was on a Specialized Allez road bike and fitted well for it(I think) doing 90 miles. Using SPDs with full float cleats.

In reply to Escher: no just from cycling

This might be a shoe sizing and tightness issue.

I have pretty wide feet, and in almost all cycling shoes if i do them up tight enough to stop my foot moving it compresses my arch and causes my feet to go slowly numb, starting with the little toe and steadily working its way across the foot.

I've ended up having to try on a LOT of shoes to remedy this, and as a result almost always have to pay full price

In reply to PaulHermes: Might be that your shoes are too flexible under the sole. That can cause numbness.

Try an orthopedic insole like a Specialized BG? They are pretty comfortable.

If I over tighten the ratchet on the top of my Sidis ever so slightly I get numb feet and pins and needles in the sole. When I slacken it off , 10 minutes later I'm fine.

SPDs as in MTB pedals & cleats ? That might be your problem, if so.

You mean from the cold? I thought that, but op thinks its just from distance.

To op, as others have said its likely to be a shoe fitting issue

Yeah this is it. And like Dr Who said higher up too. I've got experience of this from our guests here. Anything that squeezes a wide foot will cause numbness/pins and needles.

In reply to PaulHermes: I have two toes of shoes, one full float the other fixed. Both are road cleats and I have also slackened them off but still same numbness
