We have a mixture of tubed and tubeless  bikes . The youngests mtb is tubed and he attracts punctures like flies to rhr thing that flies like . I generally carry a new tube , a repaired tube and a kit on rides and try to keep the new tube “ new “ .  And he is very good at fixing them himself .  However now wilcos has gone I had cause to look online for a few kits for stock . Blooming ek they are cheap from Mr Besos  house of dreams . I just recieved what looks like a lifetimes worth of patches and a couple of tubes of rubbber cement for £5 . They look just like the one you get in a normal kit and hopefully I’ll never need to buy patches again .

Squares of old inner tube are even cheaper.

Rubber cement will 'dry out' after a while even if unopened.
