UKC

I recently rewatched the very moving UKC film, 'In the Bubble' about Andy Earl, its a very good watch and I recommend if you have yet had the chance to see it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtFLD9VQ46s&t=692s). At 11:25 in the video Andy does Blood Sport (f8A+) and goes to the far left pocket instead of the crimp above, he gave this 8B. This climb is listed as Bloodsport Left Hand Finish (f8B+) on the logbook, but from this film and all the old photos I can find of him doing the original line he always goes to the pocket (https://www.ukclimbing.com/photos/dbpage.php?id=69757).

Almost all future ascensionists have used the crimp to get into the break instead, likely why the grade has come down to 8A+ over time. Joe Wilson repeated the original sequence under the impression it was a new line, upgrading the original to 8B+ and, as far as I can tell, he incorrectly (although likely unintentionally) claimed the FA. 

I'd be really interested to hear from any Northumberland Locals with insight into the boulder and knowledge as why when repeat ascensionists started using the crimp they didn't distinguish it as a new boulder?
