Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Years ago i remember watching some US/Canadian? tourist go rock climbing in eastern europe? where the locals all climbed down slabs & chimneys face first and I was trying to find the video. At the end the people are commentating on how dangerous it is and then they go to a whole bunch of memorials for people who have died doing it.

Anyone have any ideas about this?

Hah - yes! I'd assumed that he was probably the local Santa practising for his big night.

I never considered Santa going head first down the chimney. It would have the advantage that he could check the room is clear I guess.

I think it derives from an SAS abseiling technique - wherein, presumably, at least one of the Ss stands for Santa.
