What’s the best way to get a pad onto an EasyJet/Ryanair flight? In the past I’ve just booked them in as normal hold baggage. Have they become more militant or is the price similar for both items? 

I took my Moon Warrior pad on an easyjet flight to Corsica last year. I just checked it in as normal hold luggage (the rules were something about the sum of the length of 3 sides of the bag and it was well within this limit, and weight isn't a problem). I had to take it round to over-sized baggage, but I had no issues other than a few odd looks! 

I have literally gaffa taped my bags into the pad in the past, and as long as the combined bag + bouldering mat meets their size and weight restrictions its good to go.
