The Castlemartin firing range does not seem to be very well run these days. Five years ago a soldier was killed as a result of targets being placed in the wrong position. When the natural arch at Crocksydam Point collapsed a few years ago, it was suggested that this might have been the result of being fired at by a tank rather than being hit by giant waves (the waves hit the front of the buttress, where the climbs are located). In recent years the army have taken to shooting large pellets containing chalk at the walls of Huntsman's Leap. And now this.
