The Castlemartin firing range does not seem to be very well run these days. Five years ago a soldier was killed as a result of targets being placed in the wrong position. When the natural arch at Crocksydam Point collapsed a few years ago, it was suggested that this might have been the result of being fired at by a tank rather than being hit by giant waves (the waves hit the front of the buttress, where the climbs are located).
