I tried emailing the BMC about this but the "contact" option on the RAD pages is still broken (it's been broken for many years). So I'm hoping someone from the BMC will see this

There's a sign near South Gully Buttress in Dovedale saying that climbing on Tissington Spires is currently banned due to nesting birds. That's the only information given, referring to the BMC website for more information - not much use in the bottom of a steep sided valley with no mobile reception!

It turns out that the restriction ended at the end of June, but 3 weeks later the sign is still there. It ought to be removed to save anyone else wasting their time.

Can I also suggest that in future, any sign is rather more useful? It just said that climbing on Tissington Spires was banned due to unspecified birds for an unspecified period. It also wrongly stated that it applied to the whole area, rather than just one buttress.
