Hi,

just to let you know I'm performing my one man play about mountaineer and occultist Aleister Crowley at the Lowry on the 29th and 30th of October. The play is abouty his life and there are a couple of scenes set during his attempt on Kanchenjunga.

Here is a link to the show at the Lowry. Hope to see you.

In reply to John Burns: I've got tickets already and am bringing three others along also. Thanks for bringing this interesting character to my attention, I had never heard of him before your podcasts appeared on UKC a while back.

would love to attend but im outta town.

have often ended up in places old crowely frequented: kanch, k2 and crossed china, the house by loch ness etc.

whilst the occultism isnt my main interest in him, i can glimpse where he may have got bits of it from, and appreciate his contribution to later philosophers like leary, wilson, sagan etc.

Hi Mark, great to hear you are coming along and also that you enjoyed the podcasts. What day are you coming on? I might be having a book signing/meet up afterwards.

Arse, I'm in Kazakhstan with work.

John, if you earn enough from the show, you can buy the Abbey at Cephalu which has just gone up for sale.

Would love to go, but my progress with the Great Work means that I'll be getting roughly shafted in the Gobi Desert by Choronzon the Demon of Dispersion 333 for those two nights. Nothing else would keep me away.
In reply to Steve Parker:

Any clues as to what that 'Great Work' may be, Steve?

Hmm. 'The Great Work' was an old occult term used by Crowley et al for the work involved in becoming enlightened. I think it came from alchemy originally. I was joking anyway!
