I must admit I’d never heard of Tom Franklin before I picked up “Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter”, but have just finished it and still thinking about it. One of the things I most enjoyed was the direct speech, which was written with some words and some useages that had me nearly reading some of it out loud. I began to feel I could pass for a blue collar from Mississippi. But I still don’t understand the title.
Anyone else read Franklin?

Thanks for that. It makes sense now, but still not quite sure how it suits the novel (apart from being set in Mississippi).

Seems like I’m not alone in being unaware of this author.
