Not long since I had an evening playing through Antiques & Curios, Grave New World and From the Witchwood. Never understood why they didn't have more success & their best known single is so untypical. 

the only things i can think of is their often religious tone (naff lyrics sometimes?) or the folk/prog rock fusion was going a bit too far for the purists?

I remember seeing them at Strathclyde (Strathtech as Glasgow university students used to call it) union right at the top of the stairs where people had fallen down the middle and died until safety netting was installed (all memories of then circa 1980); they were brilliant and very much like their albums. Sad that he has gone.
