Is it worth going to see?

No, it isn't.

Your move, veteye!

It was on last night in my local Stamford Arts Cinema for £7. A handy cinema, and cheaper than the commercial ones.

It is on again on Wednesday night. Just trying to decide if the film is worthy of a viewing, or whether I would feel a little deflated by it(?).

Well okay then, my suggestion is to go along, if only to support your local cinema. Plenty of reviewers liked the film, but only you can judge how will you yourself will react to it. But if, for example, you were to find that you were not enjoying the film, you could always leave the cinema part way through.

I walked out 2/3rds of the way through that illogical recent Demi Moore film.

I may also go to Ballerina, with lots of stars in it, a thriller in a series of thrillers. That's on tomorrow at the same cinema. (Gabriel Byrne, Anjelica Huston, Keanu Reeves etc).

It sounds good, I keep forgetting to go and see it and as my beloved local 'art house' cinema has just reopened after closing during covid, I'm in a cinema-going frenzy at the moment.

I'd have thought knowing the general theme and the overwhelmingly good reviews would be enough to help you decide. If you go, do update the thread with your own review.

Will do. Thanks for the input.

Its a really lovely film so if you like that type of film go. I nearly left after ten minutes because i thought i had seen it all before but I'm glad i stayed. Ballerina was well acted but otherwise repetitive and lacking any sense of reality or humour.

Thank you for your assessments/thoughts. I probably will go.

It's charming, funny, moving and has good acting and scenery. It's a good, low budget independent UK film, which there should be more of.

I really enjoyed it. Funny and quirky, charming and moving in the same way Brian And Charles was. Go see it.

It is superb. In theory, it's something I should hate. Twee, feelgood fantasy chocolate-box Brit pablum.
In practice, aside from a few convenient contrivances and slapstick, it is predominantly a sharp and witty film the subtly addresses aspects of loneliness, grief, bitterness, self-loathing and regret, without ever bashing you over the head with those things. I'd watch it again at the cinema if I still had an Unlimited pass.

You are quite impatient.
