The Pink Floyd Pig

When touring with their 1977 album Animals, Pink Floyd introduced the famous flying pig balloon. I have seen reincarnations of it at a number of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters concerts. Maybe it is a rumour, but I have heard, that during one of their early concerts a giant pig was slowly inflated from under the surface of a nearby lake from where it slowly emerged. Sounds spectacular. If true, where and when was it?

In reply to Stefan Jacobsen:

It would be a bit disappointing if no UKC’er knew about where and  when the Pink Floyd pig appeared from a lake.

Yes, was at Lawrencefield, popped up whilst I was doing Billy Wizz and I nearly s...    myself

No idea , but a great album, very different from anything else before (or after really), need to revisit it

Is it possible that an earlier inflatable octopus is getting mixed up with stories of the later and more famous pig?

The Wikipedia article on the pig made an interesting diversion.

Thanks for the link to a very interesting site. Yes, maybe the animals were confused.
