Hi All, does anyone have any recommendations for a good campsite that’s within east driving range of Carrock Fell?

I’m looking for somewhere with flat tent pitches, not super boggy, reasonable toilets and showers, relatively quiet and is open.  Nice views are always good too.

I have a couple of favourites closer to Keswick but there seem to be plenty between Keswick and Penrith (e.g. Pooley Bridge).

"The quiet site"  might do. I did stay there a good while ago and it was nice enough, though it may not be the cheapest option.

The Old Crown in Heskett Newmarket has a campsite. Plus is right behind the pub!

I’m struggling to get booked in anywhere but The Quiet Place looks especially good for a future trip.
