I'm staying in Castellane in a couple of week's time with my family which includes my daughters (7&10). I've got a climbing day out with a Guide planned but I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions about non-family climbing activities in the area. Are short walks possible from Castellane?

You could do a lot worse than going round the lake to St.Andre les Alpes, and get youself a tandem paraglider flight.

Failing that, take the family over to Annot  for a nice walk in the woods.  Where you might unexpectedly bump into lots of gritstone boulders :-o

Was there 5 years ago on holiday. Best call in to the tourist office in town. Lots of information on what to do, see and go available.

One suggestion is, take a torch or two (for the tunnels) and walk up the gorge as far as you want then return by same way, its amazing.
