If you're wild camping there are some great places, but you should be happy to take down your tent each day. Fine if you're moving around and a few, but not so good if you're many, have a few days and somewhere to safely leave things, relax etc.
My favourite spot wild spot would be down at Luckey Tor. Great climbing, swimming and beautiful. Thirty minutes walk but worth it.
On the path between Hound Tor and Smallacombe rocks is a clearing by a stream which also is picturesque and private.
For organised camping this place is great:

Fifteen minutes to Hay Tor and Chudleigh and thirty five to the Dewerstone. Reasonable showers and toilets and the village has a shop and three varying pubs.
