For those thinking of going to the Tre Cima in the Dolomites (Comici, Brandler-Hasse.....) note that from this year there is a new online booking system in place for the toll road & parking going up from Misurina. You have to book 12 hour parking slots in advance - in mid-August 2025, fully booked for next 5 days. If you want to do one of the big routes & will not enter & leave the toll road / parking within a 12 hour slot, you have to book the consecutive 12 hour slot also. One 12 hour toll / parking slot costs 40€. So last minute decisions that you are in the right place, at the right time with a good weather forecast to finally attack the route you have been dreaming about for the last 20 years are no longer possible 🙄😢

What's the fine?

And how much is a pair of fake UK plates

In reply to boggyinfrance:

I think we spent about 3 nights there in 2016 with a few big routes and a rest day. Given we started at 5am and got down late,  even if there was a bus,  it wouldn't be an option

It's a gated toll road, drop barriers and all the stuff. Walking and cycling are free.

There is a bus service. Although it looks like even this has to be booked in advance. https://www.drei-zinnen.bz/en/ticket

That sounds horrendous, how things have changed. I was last there in 1975 when we drove (in my mini van) to and camped outside the Laveredo hut for free with no problems. see photo.
