A few days ago we tried the bush-whacking approach, it wasn't quick or pleasant. My advice would be not to both trying to go off-piste, the terrain is pretty unforgiving.
Using one car though is fine and doesn't add too much time as the extra walking is downhill and mostly on a very quiet tarmac road.
Park at the finish point of the ridge and follow the lane directly back to the main road meet up with the start point parking. There is a short cut that misses out the regular approach walk but trying to explain it on here would take longer than the extra walk! There are numerous tracks that lead off the tarmac, many look like they may head for the ridge, they don't, they lead to dead ends. We tried them all.
The ridge is brilliant, we were back on it yesterday: https://www.mountain-journeys.co.uk/el-realet-ridge-costa-blanca-a-beautifu...
Hope you have a great time
