Off to Kalymnos in two weeks time and looking for a quiet, clean apartment in or near Massouri. There are so many to chose from it would be useful to get some personal recommendations!

From searching previous threads I see the Hotel Philoxenia is highly recommended (and looks amazing!), but as we'll be on the island for two weeks would prefer somewhere with cooking facilities.

Cheers!

Should also have said it's for two people...

The philoxenia top floor rooms have cooking facilities, FYI.

Prego, run by a super friendly couple, cheap, cleaned every day and they've got a kitchen too. You also get free coffee in the morning, what more could you want!

George Fatolitis studios

It's basically in the centre of the main climbing village of Massouri, but just slightly down a side road so not too noisy. The bike hire place next door is really useful (even booked our taxi back to the ferry when we dropped the bike back), is virtually next door to Fatolitis Snack Bar (unsurprisingly), and the room we had was great value, clean, had THE view and had a small kitchenette. His niece is next door, and doesn't have THE view, so is cheaper, but you can see the Grand Grotte from the upper floors. It also has it's own pool.

Lambrinos Studios - below Poets and above the coffee shop and Mike's Bikes. Like just about everyone else we met in Kalymnos, taking friendliness and service to lengths that would embarrass a Canadian.

Thanks for the recommendations - will check them out. Assume they had decent showers and cooking facilities?

Also, do you think it's worth asking for a deal given that we are staying for 2 weeks in November? Not sure what the etiquette is on haggling!

Someone also suggested not pre-booking and then arranging an appartment on arrival. Has anyone done this? Was it a good way to get a good deal or just a stressful faff?!
