I accidentally port a self catering apartment in Magaluf last year (on booking.com it said near palma and as it was cheap I didn’t bother to check), but it actually turned out ok! Cheap and it was dead quiet out of season in October. And pretty good in terms of driving to the climbing crags (not dws). I wouldn’t recommend getting a place right around palma though as it is very busy with traffic. Also palmanova further on from magaluf is a good option too, slightly tamer than magaluf. And you can get large English breakfast and free tea for 3.99!
