Hi

Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Marrakesh for staying in prior to going to the Atlas Mountains, maybe somewhere where other people will be to share taxi transport to Imhil.

Thanks

Depends on your definition of good! What are you after? How much do you want a hotel vs a riad?

We stayed at The Hotel Ali. Cheap and cheerful but room was clean and we got a good square meal in the evening. A bit hostel like and most clients are backpacker types from what we could see. Good enough that we booked it again on the way home for a night, and within walking distance of the city centre hotel that serves beer(!), and right next to the major attraction of the Jemaa el-Fnaa square.

Riad Layla Rouge was fantastic. They've got swanky rooms, bunk rooms and a roof top lounge area. Close to the main square. I believe they have a website. We stayed there for nearly a week, and would happily return.

I have been to Marrakech twice in the last year, and highly recommend Hostel Riad Rouge.

This is very central (just down a side street from Jamal Efna). Both visits they have collected me from the airport. You can have a shared room, and a little extra for a private room. The second time stayed I was with my girlfriend and the private room was spot on.

Being a hostel, there is a communal downstairs area with sofas where visitors tend to get together and socialise in the evenings - I am sure you would find others willing to go to Imhil. I went on trips to the desert at Erg Chebbi with people I met in the hostel.

They come very highly recommended on trip advisor the lady who works there, Hinde Ammata is most helpful.

Their email address is [email protected]

Hope this helps!

Ollie.
