Could you advise on the overnight stay on Montserrat massif please?

I am visiting Barcelona and would like to hit Montserrat for few days. Rather than traveling each day on the train it would be much more convenient to stay in the mountains.

I can find a bit of info about huts / refugees, but nothing official.

Coordinates of huts?
Phone numbers?
Do you need to reserve a sleeping space? On the day? Day before?
Do you need a sleeping bag?
Are huts half-board?
Is where cooking facilities?

Thanks!

Hi, just came back from Montserrat 2 weeks ago. dont know about the huts, but we stayed at the Monastery apartments (two bedrooms, kitchen with cooking facilities, fridge, micro) booked via booking.com and it costs us 20 eur/p/night. There is a hotel in El Bruc - the Bruc hotel, no reply from them. I hope it helps, Peter

I stayed at this refuge in the early 90s. It is on the road BP-1103 near the small monastery of St Cecillia (not the main monastery). It was fine then. We took our own sleeping bags and self catered. They do meals judging by this website. It is outside the area around the Montserrat Monastery that you had to (in the 90s) pay to take a car into.

There was a refuge up not far from El Elephant, which was an absolute tip then !

A search for 'refugi Montserrat' throws up some more info.

There are a few old hermitages taken over by climbers as bivvy huts too... some pretty basic, at least one near cavall bernat complete with wood stove and vegie patch (Byo everything though)
