Hi all,

I am going to be bivvying and climbing at the limestone crags around llangollen next weekend, and need somewhere to park the car overnight. Can anyone recommend anywhere that won't be in anyones way, and where it won't be likely that the car will be broken into etc? Ive already been warned off parking at the Worlds End carpark, as apparently it...changes...when the sun goes down. Anywhere a bit less dodgy that you could suggest??

Cheers folks, S

I would`nt leave a car overnight anywhere in this area. It may look rural and safe but too many cars have been vandalised. Pay a few quid and camp.

In reply to johnnorman: thanks for the reply. I phoned one of the local campsites and they said they only took "families or couples" which, obviously means that they dont want trouble. 2 lads going for a weekend climbing are definitely gonna burn everyone elses tent down and drink alcopops until 3am arent they? Effing rediculous if i may say so. Anyway...are you sure there is absolutely nowhere that would be reasonably safe to leave a car? Surely vandals are too lazy to wander up the hill towards the crags just to key someones corsa? no?

ha ha ha...what better have they got for a 'summer' evenings entertainment!

There's a nice little campsite in carrog...a few miles further west along the A5 towards Corwen. The local pub, the Grouse, serves an excellent pint of ale and passably good food.

Just leave it by the old school in Pentredwr it should be OK. Pentredwr is a small village a couple of miles from Llangollen and close to the Eglwsyg crags.
In reply to Sam1991: Why don't you say you are a couple?

The top road running parrallel to the escarpment is littered with bits from burnt out cars, broken glass and other bits. It's a quiet road, not farm from the estates at Acrefair etc and doesn't see the police that often. As others have said, don't assume that it's quiet as it looks so 'rural', there are reasonable size towns around the corner with high crime rates and not much for people to do...
