Done a week of climbing in Cham last summer with a guide. Going with someone better than me this time and I'm stopping off at Font first for two weeks.

Anybody got any tips for dirtbagging in Font or Chamonix or any experience/tips with this double trip?

Don't expect to do anything hard in Font in the summer. In fact, it's probably best to set expectations at the 'sunbathing and a bit of climbing' level.

Doesn't seem to be in vogue now in the days of every line being individually named, graded and instagrammed, but what I often enjoy most about Font is simply trying every red problem I come across and seeing how many I manage to flash, to get up or to wimp out of before moving on to the next. The variety, in terms of climbing style but also of difficulty, can be huge, and unless you're a superstar boulderer you'll be pretty beasted after just a few hours.

I've done that a few times. My main tip is do a half week at Font then head to Chamonix the trip down is a good rest day. Week of climbing and another rest day trip back for the final half week in font.

Font in summer. Get out at sunrise and finish by 10 am, then sit around all day. I found it hard enough a few weeks ago at 18 degrees.
