West View, Preston

Does anyone know what West View in Preston is like at the minute?
There are some out of date reviews on here so wondering if anyone has a more up to date opinion.

Sweaty and bad lightning, as per usual. Though the lighting is supposed to get fixed soon. Ian vickers has just re-set the bouldering and done a much needed excellent job. Routes are set by Ian too, and are usually top notch.

In reply to 00spaw: I am going tomorrow early evening. I beleive the main wall has been re-routed recently by Ian Vickers.

I've got a poorly elbow so haven't been since September but my mate are stil going every wednesday evening. They told me that the route on the main lead wall were changed very recently.

As for the wall itself, I have been going there religiouly since 1994 and I rate the wall as one of the best in the area.

In reply to 00spaw: Thanks, I think that I am going tomorrow either during the day or late evening. I havn't been climbing in ages so gonna get back into it with some bouldering again.

Shame some moron has srewed 2x4 planks to the boards for a "campus traverse".......

In reply to 00spaw: I think its only £4.50 entry fee, and Kendal is about £8. Obviously being run by the Local Authority it can keep the price down. Its defo worth the money.

In reply to 00spaw: Vickers Re-set the bouldering about a month ago, and the main wall about 2weeks ago. The routes are pretty good though!

I'll be down tomorrow night bouldering, so maybe see you there!
