Where to buy Coleman fuel (or equivalent) in Norway and Sweden

I'm heading to Bodø, then Fauske in June and I'd like to buy Coleman fuel or something similar. Do campsites often stock it? Is it for sale in DNT huts? Do petrol stations sell it?

From checking online it seems that Biltema in Bodø might stock it, as might XXL.

I'd prefer to use Coleman fuel, but failing that has anyone experience of fulling unapproved containers with petrol in Norway? I got away with filling a 2L Coke bottle once but I think that was because it was late at night and I was quick.

Pointers for finding Coleman fuel in Arvidsjaur, Moskosel and Älvsbyn also appreciated.

You could use panel wipe (on the biltema website) or Aspen fuel which I'm sure you will find everywhere in lands where chainsaws are common!

In reply to Roberttaylor: You can get Primus fuel (same thing I think) in most sports / outdoor shops along side gas tins and meths. DNT shop in Oslo sells it and the staffed DNT hytte might - Haukeliseter for example - but generally no and you shouldn’t rely on them stocking it (or any fuel) without checking first. XXL should have it in my experience but I would call ahead, they’ll speak English.

I’ve bought fuel in Kvikkjokk Swedish STF hytte (sp?) but I’ve less experience in Sweden. Against , sports shops and outdoor retailers are your best bet. You know this but running LF stoves on unleaded can be dodgy inside your tent (which the weather or mossies will drive you to eventually) because of the additives.

Check ahead on campsites, gas tins more commonly than LF I think.

In reply to Roberttaylor:  I'd give XXL or the Sport1 in Bodø a call as both theoretically should have it.   Remember they won't be open Sunday and shut early on Sat..

Thanks everyone. Looks like I should do a days shopping in Bodø once I arrive!

As is mentioned, get the clean small engine petrol from pretty much any hardware-store or most gas stations (just make sure it's the one, without premixed oil).

A lot cheaper and as said easier to acquire. They do often come in bigger bottles, so if you plan on doing hiking perhaps getting a suitable sized bottle for what you need is smart.
