Which South East Beach this Friday?

It's Mrs BattyMilk's Birthday this weekend and we've taken the Friday off to head to the coast, get the wetsuits on for a swim and have a picnic on the beach. Our plan was to head to Camber Sands but it looks like on the Rother District Council website they're still discouraging folk from travelling there and the car parks are closed.

Does anyone know of any other nice (preferably sandy) beaches in striking distance (2hr drive) from South London (specifically Crystal Palace), that are open and not against visitors?

Beaches between margate and ramsgate in Kent? Eg Botany bay? A cursery Google doesn't reveal any issues, at least not highlighted in the last month

I live in Hastings and the sea front and beach is currently closed, the situation may have changed by the weekend, so keep an eye on the relevant websites for Hastings Borough Council and Rother District Council.

The main problem in the South East is that very few toilets are open, and those that are result in long queues and waits.

Hope this is useful.

Further to my previous post you might like to consider the stretch of beach (shingle)  between Pett Level and Winchelsea Beach, with disabled toilet (Radar key) at Pett Level?

Try St. Marys bay down to Dungeness, several car parks along the sea front that are all open. It's one long beach around 10 or so miles long. Check the tide times though as it goes out a very long way, especially the southern end from Littlestone down.

With an afternoon/evening high tide and sunny weather the water will be warm but not clear, safe to swim but the fine sand gets stirred up easily.
