Can anyone recommend an Alpine climbing boot that would fit a wide foot? I used to have Nepal Extremes but have worn them out.

Many thanks

Craig

I have wide feet too and I am using Scarpa Ribelle Tech 3 HD, they are absulutely the best, hybrid, light-weighted and all-round mountaineering shoes for Alpes like mountains. They are suitable for the mixed climbing, glacier walking, ice climbing or just as approach shoes.

A good tip for those who fit Scarpa boots well, and looking at boots like the Ribelles or the lighter Rebel models, is to consider the Zodiac Tech: approximately the same weight, warmth and technical ability, but substantially cheaper, and a more traditional boot type.

Ive been very happy with mine as a bridge between approach shoes and winter boot use. I’d use them for summer Alpine, but not for winter use.

For more of a Scarpa equivalent to Nepal Extremes, I’d look at Rebel Ultras (are they still sold?) or Phantoms.

+1 for zodiacs, wide (for mountain boots) toe box, lightweight, comfortable. Also relatively cheap

I have wide feet and can’t wear many boots.

I do fit (with green superfeet) the La Sportiva trango towers -  a fab Alpine summer boot and perfect for UK scrambling / big boots routes.
But beware,

1. They seem to be many boots in the Trango range, so make sure you get the right one.

2. admittedly, I use mine all the time in the UK, and the Alps rip boots to shreds, but I find they wear out v quickly. 2 years at best.  They are an expensive habit.

Zodiacs, great boots, not sure many places in the UK stock them, I got mine from Europe.

I might well have a hunt for a second pair before they stop making them.

Salewa’s are worth a try for wide feet if you can find a local stockist. Mad about mountains stock them if you have a branch near you. I use the Salewa Rapace for summer alpine uk to around 4000m. The Vultur Evo’s are a top end b2 and much warmer. The Vultur Verticals are b3’s and excellent for higher peaks and ice climbing.

All 3 fit my wide forefoot.

They are back in Scarpa UK's line up this year for the first time since they were a new model 6 years ago.
