Hi,
Am dreaming about a trip to Ladakh next September trekking and taking in a couple of 6000m peaks. Stok Kangri looks fairly straightforward and am wondering about the feasibility of doing the Markha Valley trek as a circular route with Stok Kangri and Kang Yatse on the way.
Also, has anyone climbed the higher and harder main summit of Kang Yatse? How tricky? Did you travere from the lower summit and over the ridge? From looking at the trekking companies, they all climb the lower peak. We would probably be going independently, and hire ponies and their muleteers to carry kit as far as basecamps.
Have done a couple of seasons in the Alps, not really climbed above AD+, and this was a while ago, and climb grade III+ scottish winter. Assuming I get well acclimatised, is this going to be out of my league?
Cheers,
Lucy
