Just turn up and hope there is room. There is plenty.
It is a remarkable structure, complete with solid fuel range cooker. Great views. Isolated position.
Think there is a deposit box to pay but it is not much iirc.

Last year I stayed at the Arben bivouac hut and we filled in a form in the hut and went into the post office in Zermat to pay. They have some system where you can pay for bivouac huts through the post office. It was 23 Swiss francs per person. A lot is based on trust and it seems wrong to abuse it. There were some senior guys at the hut and they were welcoming and helpful.
