G' morning all,

Thought I might as well pose my query on here as there's a lot of knowledgable brains. Any suggestions for a long alpine route (will be going this winter) in Europe? Ski in is O.K., bivy good (speed dependent), something "easy-ish" as I am fat and lazy. Classic, not-so-classic and lesser-known all welcomed.

Happy climbing = )

In reply to mlt: The swiss route on the Courtes would be one of the obvious suggestions. Lots of stuff on Mont Blanc du tacul too. Varying from big snow plods to hard ice routes.
In reply to mlt: Personally i might look at the north face of Grossglockner - various classic icy routes AD to TD. But then I've got a thing for that hill. Been thwarted in spring / summer by warm weather so I guess winter might be more approprote these days.

In reply to mlt: Any of the Monte Rosa peaks, involve skiing and quite long if you climb from Zermatt side.

In reply to mlt: Chouca Blanc on Mont Maudit with the Kuffner finish is given AD+ by Damilano, though it's high and serious. Mallory-Porter on the Midi is less serious, nice AD with bonus of frique descent. Jaeger Couloir on Tacul is pretty easy. So frankly is Coutourier on Verte in good conditions. Austrian Route on Courtes is easier than Swiss. Y Couloir on Argentiere is good, straightforward AD.
