Hi guys!

I'm currently planning an Expedition to Kyrgistan and am currently figuring out what maps to bring. Apart from old Soviet maps and Google earth screenshots, I thought I would also like to bring topographical maps like the ones found on fat maps, opentopo, caltopo or any other similar format. So thats why I would like to ask you:

1) Which sites/service is your personal favorite for this?

2) How to actually print the map (for example google earth opentopo or fatmaps doe not have an "export to pdf" function that I am aware of...)

You can export Google earth to pdf, a quick Google gives the instructions on the link below. If things have been updated, then Google earth pro should do (free).

If you can see a map on your screen, you can always screen shot/snip it.

Cant help with Topo maps, we found the "Kyrgyzstan climbers map" was acceptable quality. Might have the odd bonus/missing mountain.

Good luck with the trip!

Rather than trying to go down the unreliable free route, why not buy a map? Stanfords seem to have a couple in stock:

Have you looked at Gaia GPS Maps? I tend to use them for the more remote locations.
