5.10 Anasazi Problems

I have had a pair of 5.10 anasazi lace-ups for about two months, and now they look absolutely knackered. The rand is coming away from the shoe in about 3 places on both shoes, and the sole is also coming off. They have also stretched, I think. After about 20 climbs in them, I'm very disappointed, but what can I do? Has anyone else had this problem? Should I take them back? Email 5.10? or what?
Thanks
Toby

In reply to Ferrito:

Take them back and complain could just be a bad pair
In reply to Ferrito: I've used anasazis for years now, never had any problems so they probally are just a bad pair and bad luck. It sounds like a manufacturing fault so if the shop don't take them back send them to 5.10 and kindly ask fora replacement pair. Although I did find my older pairs of anasazis have stretched a bit round the toes, as a by point.

In reply to Ferrito: Remember the rand is only to protect the leather from abrasion so if it's coming away at the flex point - so what, no harm done.
You don't say how much climbing has been done other than 20 climbs. Is that 20 short boulder problems or 20 mega long multi pitch routes?

In reply to Ferrito: The 20 climbs is a mixture of slate single pitch, and tremadog multi pitch

5.10's quality control issues are well known, though they seem to have improved slightly since the recent redesigns. Don't expect them to last long enough to take a resole though.

Take them back and complain. The new distributors aren't as generous with repairs as the old ones, so depending on the attitude of your shop you may have to push them.

All boots stretch, you should expect this.

In reply to Ferrito: As Adam says, take them back to the shop you got them from (which I would gues was V12?) and explain. Rands shouldn't come off after light use but it is up to you to convince the shop that they haven't been used much.
The stretch is to be expected. All shoes stretch.

In reply to Ferrito: I've a pair and the buggers won't stretch so they hurt less or wear out so I can replace them!
Think you've just been unlucky; ask for a refund or replacement.

In reply to Ferrito:
OK. Thanks everyone. Will take them back tomorrow.
Cheers

Just to add my 2p, I've a pair of these that are only just wearing through on the toe and on the fabric over the knuckle after 6 months fairly relentless use. Been through the wash 4 times or so, and dws for a week in Mallorca, and no bits falling off. Reckon you got a bad pair. Good luck with the next ones, they are good when they work!
