Anyone know anywhere in Aberdeen that does alterations to outdoor clothing & gear?

In reply to Jonny Tee:

I don't know about outdoor gear as such but there's a good tailors place on George Street (Stitch Up ?) just along from Nevisport that does all sorts of stuff. Maybe one of the climbing shops might know of a specialist if they couldn't help.

In reply to Rowie B: I know one of the guys who works at Nevisport took his old Gortex there to get a new zip put in it. Nevisport also use that shop for small repairs (if they don't need specialist work like taping seams, etc.) as it's cheaper than sending stuff off.

Depends on what bit of kit you want altering and what you want doing to it.

<hijack> Jonny did you get anything done at the weekend? I had a trip to the Dundee wall and that was about it </hijack>

In reply to Jonny Tee: There is a place out in Aboyne that makes tailored Outdoor clothing for individuals. Think the name is hilltrek or something along those lines, i reckon they would be able to mend stuff. Give them a phone if you can find the number!

In reply to Jonny Tee:

Thanks for the responses folks.

Dave, wandered up Lochnagar on Sunday. Got to beyond the top of the ladder then retreated due to the strong wind & blinding spindrift.

Went up Bennachie last night - reduced to crawling at the top, really had to cling on. Excellent fun!

Hopefully try and get out this weekend - think Sunday looks better at the moment.

In reply to Jonny Tee: I was thinking Saturday looked like the day most likely to have any white stuff left! Not looking primising again but here's hoping. I might head down to Dundee again or go for a walk somewhere or both this weekend.

In reply to Dave80:

Plenty left on sunday. Turf wasn't frozen on the lower section of the cliff. Anything starting higher was ok.
