In reply to Keith Sugden: i have heard some good reports on the tents they make...and have been told they are all ex- terra nova people so they should know how to stitch a tent together

In reply to Andrew:

I have used them wild camping in Scotland in winter. I had no problems, even in nasty weather. Seemed like good tents. I'd definitely use one again.

In reply to Keith Sugden: I've got the middle sized one and have been really pleased with it - I don't carry it, so the additional weight isn't a problem, but the fact you get a footprint groundsheet with it, and all the little design bits like the bellows bag (plus I only paid £250 in their sale for it) make it really good value.

It's also extremely well made and is basically a Terra Nova Quasar design (I think) - anyway - it hasn't blown down or leaked yet!

In reply to Keith Sugden:
Isn't Antarctica Mr Vallance's new tent firm? Didn't he start Mountaingear which grew into Wild Country (tents) which grew into Terra Nova (& wc tents again)? Then he threw his toys out of the pram about the time he gave up his interest in the Foundling.....

In other words the pedigree is good, so the tents are trustworthy by association.

Sorry - sounded a bit of an anorak there (3 layer taslan dwr, taped seams of course)
