Hi Elliot
A friend and I bought a Hi Gear 6 man tent, a zenith or something along that line (I can’t recall the exact name). It is spacious to the extreme, a huge ‘living’ area in the middle which is easily able to stand up in, you could swing a cat in it if that’s your thing. Then two ‘pods’ that are easily assembled at either end for the bedrooms, supposedly for three people each, however four would happily sleep in each bedroom comfortably.
There is a door at either side of the ‘living area’, roll up windows with mesh nets right at the top of you wish to try and vent and get some circulation going. The ground sheet is nice and high in a ‘bath tub’ style, can it be a bit of a trip hazard entering the tent when pissed, but that all adds to the fun. Clip in ‘pocket/pouches’ are another great touch on either side of the living area, hooks all over the place for hanging lanterns from too. To give you an idea of the living area, we have had, on many occasion, five or six camp chairs in a circle, with a small table in the middle for cards/drinking games. It is an ideal area if the rest of the parties tents are tiny, double up as a perfect social area when it starts raining.
It is a bit of an effort to put up, but two adults should manage it no problem. It weighs 25kg (!?!?) and came in a huge duffel bag.
I seem to think it is only rated to 3000mm, it has seen some heavy rain and we haven’t ever noticed any issues.
Normally I use a coffin sized 2man (apparently) WC Zephyros, however when ever we are staying at a campsite/festival, the big six man beast comes out. It is like staying at a field hospital, without the medical staff.
We paid £150 for it from Go Outdoors about six or seven years ago, no issues as of yet, it has been used twice a year on average.
Any further questions, feel free
