Hey Peeps,

I have looking around and trying give myself the courage to buy my first pair of winter boots for ages now. I have just bought some 'ASOLO Peak GTX boots' to wear indoors to see if they're are comfortable enough.

Boot Usage: UK Winter, Summer/Winter Alpine, Mix of walking and and bit of vertical ice climbing.

- Has anyone any comments (good or bad) about these boots
- Has anyone got recomendations of boots i should look at

If you need more info to help then please let me know .

TTFN :-p

My girlfriend has a pair of Asolo Peak mountaineering boots. She really likes them and found them very comfortable for alpine mountainering (PD to AD-) in the summer, good support for cramponing all day, stiff for front pointing, crampons (Grivel Airtech newmatic) fitted very well and also comfy for the walk in.

She's also used them for UK winter stuff and would give them a big thumbs up. Also she had her insoles stolen in the Monte Rosa hut and Asolo UK replaced them FOC. Can't get better customer service than that.

If they fit your feet, use with confidence.

Cheers for that glowing report on the boots, it's just made my decision of which boots to get harder now as i'm torn between the Asolo's and some Salomon SM Lite. Oh i hate choice, guess it'll come down to fit in the end.

I have SM Lites and I think they are great, very warm and comfy. Worn for PD/AD routes and Lakes/Wales winter stuff.
You'll probably find that one fit your feet better than the other anyway, so the decision may be made for you!
