I'm in need of a lightweight windshield for my Jetboil but I don't want to fork out for one of the MSR foil ones as its just a length of foil! I was thinking of chopping up one or two of those foil trays that Tescos flapjacks come in but does anyone have any other suggestions for a source of heavyweight ali foil? =o)

Backpackinglight or someone like that sells the foil.

I'll message you off forum when I find out where it was I got mine from!

In reply to highaltitudebarista: I saw a photo blog of a guy who used a section from a drinks can, cut at one side to expand to fit that he just slipped under the neoprene cover when not in use. Can't remember where it was though (prob on here somewhere) sorry.
In reply to highaltitudebarista:

For the Caldera Clones, I've used large foil roasting trays from 99p Store.

For a JetBoil windshield, a flapjack tray, or sidewall of a beer can, as suggested above, tucked under the neoprene sleeve. Ready-to-cook lumps of meat often come in very sturdy foil trays, too; probably the thickest recycled food containers I can think of.

Just don't block much more than a third of the vents...

Be interested to see some photos of this for the Jetboil if that's possible?

Well, I don't have any pictures of that exact suggestion, but there are lots of photos of use of drinks cans on my OM galleries (scan through the pages)

The JetBoil hanger should give some idea of slipping stuff under the neoprene.
